About Jon Gay
From an early age Jon has been entrenched in the cookery world. He has worked in some of Norfolk’s most exciting kitchens where he has extensive experience in the worlds of fine dining, vegetarian cuisine and gluten-free foods.
As one of Norwich’s youngest head chefs, he quickly developed a reputation for big flavours and inspired dishes, utilising the finest and freshest local produce. In 2008 he was selected from an elite gathering of the region’s best young cooks to be crowned ‘Norfolk Young Chef of the Future’. Subsequently Jon has spent his time specialising in Special Dietary and Vegetarian cuisine, kitchen design and taken his position at the helm of many leading Norwich restaurants.
Offered the opportunity to work at Le Manoir (Raymond Blanc’s flagship Michelin starred restaurant), Jon instead decided to embark on his own venture. And the Jon Gay Cookery School was born.
