Our History

The Jon Gay Cookery School was established in 2012 when Jon himself identified the need for comprehensive, yet creative, cookery tuition in the eastern region.

With several years spent within the culinary arena and a wealth of experience in top local eateries, Jon wanted to bring his skills and knowledge to novices as well as those with a prior aptitude. And by doing all this in the comfort of clients’ homes, the tuition is made even more accessible to the individual.

Our Philosophy

At the Jon Gay Cookery School we believe that locally and responsibly sourced ingredients are the only viable option. Only the freshest and most flavoursome produce can achieve the best results. But first rate food isn’t the be all and end all.

With a no nonsense ethos and a hands on approach to teaching, all our lessons are undertaken in a fully interactive style and are aimed at giving you cookery skills for life, not just for an afternoon or evening. It’s our aim to educate you on food, dining and the best way to achieve enjoyment from both long term. Ultimately our services are informative and provide a whole host of fun along the way!
